Fried Round Steak

Feeling country? Good then try this one out!! Yet another beautiful Pioneer Woman Recipe, this one is as simple and as country as they get! Find some cube steak at your grocery store (which I discovered after buying these packages at Kroger that they sell them at Sam's! I am definitely getting them there next time!!) Then you just throw some seasoned flour on them and fry them up - voila! Quick, easy, tasty and filling! I think I'll do some white gravy and mashed potatoes with these next time, just to change it up a little, but we all really enjoyed this dinner. These steaks went great with the crash hot potatoes and whiskey glazed carrots from PW as well! Yumm!

Start with AP flour, salt, pepper, seasoned salt, some butter, canola oil and cube steaks.
Add the seasoned salt to the flour.
 Followed by the pepper!
 Mix it all together evenly.
Next salt and pepper both sides of the steak before pressing it into the flour mixture. The only flavor it gets is from the seasoning, and I only lightly salted and peppered one side of mine and would definitely make sure to season them a little more next time.
Really PRESS the flour in to both sides!
While you're flouring the steaks, heat the oil in a large skillet, right before you're ready to fry add the butter.
Then just lay the steaks in, however many will fit without overcrowding the pan.
When they've been in a few minutes you'll see that browning start to happen at the edges. Good things are happening!
Flip those babies over and you will see a beautiful golden crust!
Then lay them on some paper towels while you get everything else ready to go.

Don't they look purty? These are tender and a little chewy, and have a wonderful simple coating. Great comfort food! Put your cowboy boots on and ENJOY!
